Karl Lagerfeld to make over Monaco’s Hotel Métropole
Karl Lagerfeld is on a creative spree. After adding design touches to VIP helicopters and the new Diet Coke bottle, the designer has now taken up the assignment to revamp a hotel in Monaco. The Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo has asked the creative genius to make over its Belle-Epoque exterior – the pool, the terrace, the gardens, and a new Joel Robuchon restaurant – and give it a theatrical touch for the summer season. The revamp is expected to comprise of a huge fresco, made up of 15 glass panels portraying Ulysses’ journey. The fresco will boast of statuesque models in flowing Grecian robes.
