Koppert Cress specializes in cresses; seedlings of unique plants, which each have their own specific effect on the senses. Flavour, fragrance, feel or presentation, there is a cress for all. And the assortment is widening. Every year at least one new item is added to the collection of Micro-vegetables. A collection, which is presented as ‘Architecture Aromatique’.

With March 2011 has Carpe Diem Club started for Koppert Cress an unique tour in Italy, by organizing each month a dinner in one of the restaurants of the region to present the rich kingdom of Koppert Cress flavours through creativity of a great chef. Tasting the different micro plants and then enjoying them incorporated into the wonderful creations of excellent Italian chefs is always an unforgetable experience.

Each event is dedicated to invited chefs and journalists, some places will be left also for passionate foodies who want to take part of this unique event.

The first stop was in Friuli Venezia Giulia (photos) . The second one was in Lombardia (photos), the third one was in Emilia-Romagna.

The Koppert Cress dinner in Emilia-Romagna took place on May 9th at 20.00 in Bologna at Ristorante I Portici (Hotel I Portici) with the great Guido Haverkock who impressed us as much with his cuisine as with his personality. Guys in the kitchen were working fast and with passion. You could see that they enjoy and that they are a perfect team. All this passion and joy was felt and seen also in the plates which have brought happy smiles to the faces of guests. Creativity was walking hand in hand with the perfect harmony of tastes.

Enrico Zallot (marketing manager for Koppert Cress Italia) was seducing our guests already before dinner with tastings of the Koppert cress micro-plants and this is always a very special and enjoyable experience. After that, at the table, the plants showed how well they fit on the plates and with the creativity and sensibility of Guido Haverkock they showed themselves at their best. A big thank you, Guido!

Wines for the evening were offered by Carlo Nerozzi, the architect from Lago di Garda who decided to leave architecture to others and to dedicate his life to his splendid wines of Le Vigne di San Pietro. Thank you, Carlo!

A big thanks also to our guests who created with their energy a very pleasant atmosphere and made this event even better because of that.

Big thanks also to the hotel I Portici for their disponibility and great collaboration. A wonderful hotel, with beautiful rooms with character and very kind people who care about their guests.

The next Koppert Cress dinner will be in Piemonte, with Pier Bussetti at Castello di Govone on June 20th. More informations will follow soon.
