Alfonso Caputo – guest chef at “Dalla Slovenia con amore” in Rome
There are star chefs measured with stars. And there are legends which are simply above every classification. Because they are themselves, unique, special and they don’t change with one star more or less. One of those is the legendary chef from Campania, Alfonso Caputo, who is expressing his culinary heartfelt mastery in the family restaurant Taverna del Capitano.
I am happy that Alfonso Caputo will be guest chef of the “Dalla Slovenia con amore” evening in Rome where he will present himself with his dish “Spaghetti aglio, olio, seppie e le sue uova” (spaghetti with garlic, oil, cuttlefish and its own eggs).
When he finally joined today the virtual world of Facebook a friend of mine published Alfonso’s photo on his own wall with a simple but strong statement: “This is a great chef!” Yes, he is. A great chef and a great person! And we love him and his food no matter which winds will blow today or tomorrow. He is and will always be one of the best.
